Fit N Furry Dog Walking
Just a short monthly blog to share what I've been up to.....

Got off to a quiet start this month, after having a couple of weeks off over the Xmas and New Year...but I'm back with another new boy Harry, who's an adorable little Shih Tzu He's only 3 months old, and a tiny bundle of fur! I'm combining sitting and walking for him, keeping his walks short till he gets a bit older. I've already introduced him to Barney and they've been for a couple of walks together; Barney absolutely loves him

Been busy again this month with 2 new boys; Ollie the Cockapoo and Oliver the cat. Took Ollie on some lovely walks by the Tyne around Hebburn. He's just under a year old and very friendly, but he tends to lunge at other dogs so I'm working on socialising him. He's coming along great
I looked after Oliver the cat for a week while his owners were away. He's 14 years old, diabetic and partially blind so he never goes out; I popped in twice a day to feed him, give him his medication and just generally love him.....such a gentle, sweet little boy, I'm going to miss him.
December also seen the return of Isla, who I walked for a couple of days; the first day we had fun at Watergate Park on a solo walk, followed by a country pack walk at Derwent Walk the next day. I kept her on a 30 foot lead as I only have her occasionally, but she still had enough freedom to play with the other dogs and had a great time

Started walking the gorgeous Paolo this month. He's the most beautiful Blue Merle Rough Collie; he's only 7 months old and is a lovely gentle lad....looking forward to getting to know him. He's a bit timid though so I'm taking him on solo walks for now, but hopefully he'll be able to meet my Barney and come on group walks sometime in the future.
I now have 24 hour access to the dedicated veterinary helpline Vetfone. This is great because it means that if I'm sitting or walking your pet and they become ill, I can get expert advice from qualified vets very quickly

Had a busy month with plenty muddy country walks; got soaked through on a few occasions but the dogs had a great time so I'm happy
I had the pleasure of sitting Isla, a lovely little 14 week old Rottweiler pup for a few days. Barney helped to keep her occupied and he was great sharing his toys with her.

Well September has been pretty eventful; Bobbi has been doing really well on her solo walks so I took her along with my Barney, to the dog pen at Saltwell Park. They got on great together and Bobbi was off leash for the first time ever, playing happily with other dogs and I was very pleased with her recall
I've now discovered the wonders of google+ and have made a page on there.....looks rather good if I do say so myself
More group walks at Whickham and had a bit of a change of scenery with some walks at Springwell.

Welcome to the first Fit N Furry blog! August started with a bang in the shape of Bobbi the white Boxer, who is a lovely bouncy girl and full of beans. We started with solo walks as Bobbi can be a bit excitable on the lead and wants to play with everything and everybody, lol.
I also met up with fellow dog walker Chris and we took all the dogs to Whickham for a good run in the fields. I love seeing all the dogs running and playing together, and it's a great way for them to meet new friends and learn to socialise
