Fit N Furry Dog Walking
Just a short monthly blog to share what I've been up to.....

2016 got off to a great start with January seeing two new faces Bella is a very happy and well balanced Chocolate Labrador who like Miley, loves chasing a ball....she is a total joy to be with and so well behaved that she was off her lead after just her second walk
The second new face this month is little Cockapoo Brodie. He's nervous of other dogs so I am working on socialising him gradually, and hopefully he will feel comfortable coming on group walks in the near future.

Hope everyone had a lovely Christmas - 2015 has been a great year for Fit N Furry and I would like to wish Happy New Year to everyone who has helped and supported me, and most of all given me the opportunity to look after their furry friends....I love spending time with each and every one of them. Thank you
I started walking Miley this month; she's a very happy little Puggle who loves chasing balls. We started with her on the 50ft lead and she was so well behaved she was off the lead and running around with Tuppy the Shih Tzu after just a couple of days
On a sad note though, I had to say goodbye to Harvey who's family moved out of the area just before Christmas. I wish him and his family all the best and hope they'll be very happy in their new home...we had some great times and I'll really miss him xx

Plenty of dog/cat sitting and muddy walks this month, with Tuppy especially enjoying splashing about and getting as mucky as possible, lol. Harvey has really come out of his shell, enjoying playing with some of my interactive games, and learning some new things to show off to his family; he's a really good learner and has now mastered roll over, play dead, beg, paw, and we are working on a few other things too
As well as regular walks, I also sometimes walk or sit dogs just once or for a week or two if that is all that's needed for any reason - and I've recently had the pleasure of been joined short term by Spaniels Frisbee and Buck - hopefully we'll see them again soon.

Well it's been a bit of a quiet month for a change...with a few of the dogs away on holiday. Still having plenty of fun though with loads of walks, puppy sitting and looking after the lovely character known as Henry the cat

September has been another busy month with another new face in the shape of 13 year old cross breed Harvey. He is great with other dogs and off lead, but as he is quite old I am only taking him for short walks, followed by sitting...he enjoys his little runs on the field then coming home for cuddles, playing with toys, sniffing out treats in the games I bring to play with....and he's coming on great learning some new tricks!
Little Sally has now completed her vaccinations and can go for short walks. She's getting on great with the others and has so far met Tuppy, Penny, and of course little Harry and my Barney....she's only a baby though, so I always have my trusty puppy carrier on hand for when she gets tired; as soon as I put it on the ground she crawls into it, just like Harry used to when he was a puppy

Fit N Furry celebrated it's 1st anniversary in August, and what a great 1st year it's been! I would just like to say thank you to everyone so far who have given me the opportunity to get to know their wonderful dogs and cats; I love spending time with each and every one of them
I have been so busy this month and have welcomed 2 new faces; firstly I looked after Sooty the cat while her owners were away for a weekend, and towards the end of the month I started sitting the most adorable little Shih Tzu puppy Sally...we are mostly just spending time indoors for now, playing, getting to know each other...and getting to grips with the dreaded toilet training, lol. Looking forward to introducing her to some new friends soon

Thankfully, the heatwave continued for just a few days into July so it's back to the usual long walks again
I've been very busy this month as usual, and welcomed some new faces...I looked after the gorgeous Henry, a long haired cat, while his owners were away; Henry was a real pleasure to be with; very friendly, enjoying being groomed and having belly rubs. He was also very vocal and never stopped purring
I also started walking Tuppence (or Tuppy for short) who's a lovely little Shih Tzu, and a week later we were joined by another little Shih Tzu, Penny.... they are both blonde, and look remarkably like little Harry!
Last but by no means least is new girl, 6 year old Spaniel Lucy. Lucy is enormous fun to be with; she loves tearing round the field or playing with other dogs and is incredidibly well behaved both off leash and on

June has been busy with the usual walks and it's lovely to have little Harry back after his holiday last month; Lola and Barney were very pleased to see him again I also found some new places to take the dogs as I like to keep things interesting for them with plenty of new scents and experiences
I aslo looked after a couple of gorgeous cats for a fortnight, Max and Frankie, while their owner was on holiday. We had great fun; both loved their belly rubs...and I even taught them to give me a paw! Max was really good at it and knew what I wanted pretty quickly...Frankie was a bit more playful but he got there in the end, lol.
We've had a bit of a heatwave towards the end of the month...I'm always aware of how quickly dogs can become distressed in the heat, however not all dogs will 'go' in the garden, so we've only been out for as long it takes for them to do what they need to do, then it's straight back home for play and cuddles. As usual, plenty of fresh water is provided on all walks, and we've been sticking to grassy areas and shade as much as possible

May started out another busy month with all the regular guys having great fun on their walks. Lola is doing great and making some new friends, and Paolo and Harry did very well when they were introduced to Isla on a walk in the woods
I received some lovely feedback from Bentley's owner (see testimonials page)....he is getting big now, so his walks are getting longer and I'm getting in plenty of training with him while we are out and about
Little Harry has been away on holiday for a couple of weeks....we've all missed him and can't wait to see the little guy again next month

April has been a pretty hectic month with another new girl, Lola, who is a Zuchon (Shih Tzu/Bichon Frise cross). Lola is a tiny bundle of fun and has turned out to be a great playmate for little Harry the Shih Tzu, and they always get plenty exercise when I walk them together! We've had plenty of the usual social walks in the woods, played in a few parks, and generally had a great time!

Had another busy month, seeing the welcome return of the gorgeous Paolo who was away for a couple of months I have also started walking new girl Skye, a lovely little shy rescue Beddlington Terrier/Whippet cross. Really looking forward to getting to know her better and taking her to new and exciting places!

February has been a great month; little Harry has been enjoying his walks with Barney and meeting some new friends as well We've also been working on his recall using a long lead and he's coming along great. We also have new boy Bentley, a gorgeous 5 month old Chocolate Labrador. Again, he's only a young lad so I am combining sitting and walking with him till he gets a bit older. He's so full of life and loves to show me his toys every time I visit him, lol.
